Appeals Committee under review
Appeals Committee under review
The future of the Appeals Committee will be decided in the coming days

Aksel V. Johannesen, Prime Minister
29.10.2018 - 12:43
When Kærustovnurin (the Appeals Committee) turned 20 on Friday, the Prime Minister said it is time to review the role and the scope of the committee.
Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen suggested that perhaps the committee could be turned into an administrative court.
He added that it is time to start debating the future role of the committee, as its scope has expanded significantly in recent years.
The Appeals Committee currently administers 11 different sectors. This places great demands on the staff, who cover areas as diverse as child welfare, telecommunications, rights of mentally ill people and postal inspection.
