On 1 December last year, the total population of the Faroes was 51,312, which is the highest figure ever, according to Statistics Faroe Islands.
From 1 December 2017 to 1 December 2018, the population increased by 898 people.
The same period saw an excess of births of 285 and a net migration rate of 613.
