In the morning rush hour, pupils at Glyvrar school walk next to a busy main road, and this has long been a cause for concern.
Runavík Town Council has now decided to address the problem, earmarking DKK 250,000 to make the road outside school safer.
The council’s technical department has started planning a solution. Once this planning work is completed, the Town Council will meet again to discuss the next step.
