Truck driver dies in industrial accident at quarry

A dumper truck driver has died in a workplace accident at the Glyvursnes quarry on the headland southeast of Tórshavn.

Police are investigating the accident, and the dumper truck will be checked for possible mechanical causes. 

The accident occurred at 2:30 this morning near the quarry, which operates on a round-the-clock basis.

No details have emerged yet about a possible cause. The victim’s relatives have been informed.
