Spain wants to stop Faroese/Catalan partnership

The collaboration deal on digitalisation between the Faroes and Catalonia may be cancelled after the Spanish government sent it to the High Court.

This spring, the then finance minister Kristina Háfoss and Catalan minister of digitalisation Jordi Puigneró signed an agreement on digitalisation.

The agreement, a so-called memorandum of understanding, involved formulating new areas of collaboration in the field of digitalisation to allow the two nations to share knowledge, experience and solutions.

Finance minister Jørgen Niclasen says he is going to continue his dialogue with Catalan authorities regardless of what decision the High Court reaches on the matter.
