Good times for Faroese industry

Faroese industry is enjoying unprecedented growth, with a total increase of more than DKK 1 billion in operating income between 2015 and 2017.

The primary sector, including fishery and fish farming, led the way. Operating income increased from DKK 334m in 2015 to 1,400m in 2016 and then saw a slight dip to 1,200m in 2017, according to Statistics Faroe Islands.

There has also been big growth in the production and service industries in recent years. The production industry income grew from DKK 225m in 2010 to over DKK 600m in 2017, while service industry income went from DKK 194m in 2010 to DKK 860m in 2017.
