Closures and postponements
Nes, Sjóvar, Eystur, Fuglafjørður, Sunda, Sørvágur and Vágur municipalities have announced that they will postpone the opening of their daycare centres until 17 August at the earliest.
Daycare centres in the capital region, Runavík and Tvøroyri municipalities will also remain shut until further notice.
Klaksvík requires prior notification from parents if they want to send their children to daycare.
Two colleges postpone restart
Two colleges which were due to start their school year next week – Glasir and Vinnuháskúlin in Tórshavn – have announced a provisional one-week postponement.
The school year for public schools (primary and lower secondary) is scheduled to start on 18 August, and no decision has so far been made to postpone school start for these schools.
Churches and concerts
All church services will be suspended throughout August. Vicars will, however, be available, and services such as christenings, funerals, wedding ceremonies, pastoral care can still be arranged in accordance with the social distancing and hygiene requirements.

The Voxbotn music festival in Tórshavn, originally scheduled for late June, was provisionally rescheduled to 5 September as a result of the first wave of Covid-19 this spring. It has now been further postponed to an unspecified date.
