Use of face masks now officially recommended

Everyone is now officially advised to wear face masks in crowded public spaces, and the quarantine duration should not be reduced from 14 days.
These are some of the key conclusions after the epidemic commission met yesterday to discuss the current Covid-19 situation.
”We recommend that members of the public wear protective masks in places and situations where many people gather together,” says committee chairman Michael Boolsen.
“If medically approved masks are not available, a home-made mask is certainly preferable to not wearing any face protection.”
Quarantine duration unchanged
The committee also discussed suggestions to reduce the quarantine period from 14 to 10 days.
From a medical perspective, it was decided to stick with the current 14-duration, says Boolsen.
“This decision is based on the unpredictable nature of the Covid-19 strain currently in circulation in the country, especially regarding its incubation period – i.e. the period between exposure to the virus and the appearance of symptoms.”
