The technical equipment in the Tórshavn-Eysturoy subsea tunnel is currently undergoing testing.
If all these tests are passed, safety training sessions involving police and firefighters will take place on 17 December ahead of the planned opening on Saturday 19 December.
In related news, the Tunnel Company reported on Monday that drilling work on the other subsea tunnel, the Streymoy-Sandoy tunnel, is 58 percent complete.
