Nobody should feel lonely at Christmas

As in previous years, the KFUM and KFUK – the Faroese versions of the YMCA and the YWCA – want to make sure that nobody feels lonely at Christmas.
Members of the public are invited to register for the Christmas Eve events in the KFUM&K building on Gerðagøta 14 in Klaksvík and in the KFUK building on Varðagøta 9 in Tórshavn.
Both events will follow a similar format, starting with a Christmas dinner, followed by a reading of the Christmas gospel, a singalong, presents and a Christmas quiz topped off with coffee and cookies.
Few spaces left - register now
The registration deadline for the event in Klaksvík is tonight, but organiser Pól Johannsen says they might be able to make room for one or two more if they call early tomorrow. His phone number is 212480.
The registration deadline for the Tórshavn event was on Sunday, but organiser Louisa Hansen says that they might also be able to take in a few more people, although they may not have enough food and presents for many more than those already registered.
“But we have lots of coffee and cookies, so give us a call on 211824 and we’ll see what we can do. And don’t worry – we speak English,” she says.
Both events are free of charge and start on Christmas Eve at 6pm.
