Almost half of the Faroese population has tested positive for Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

If the Faroes had a population of one million, this figure would amount to 479,770 people, according to a list of Covid cases per 1 million population compiled by Worldometers.

It should be noted that the Faroese population is incorrectly listed at 49,159 rather than 53,653, which is the latest official population figure for the Faroes.

There are currently 4,972 active Covid cases in the country, with 677 positive results registered from yesterday’s round of 1,530 tests.

Four people are currently receiving hospital treatment for Covid.

A total of 20 Covid-related fatalities have been recorded in the Faroes since the start of the pandemic.
