H71 women bow out to Ukrainians in quarter final

The rescheduled EHF quarter-final game against HC Galychanka Lviv got underway in Tórshavn yesterday.
The Hoyvík-based women had a poor start to the match, conceding several goals in the early minutes.
However, they managed to pick up the pace and by the end of the first half, H71 had built up a three-goal lead.
Valiant fightback
The second half started as poorly as the first for the Hoyvík women, with the Ukrainian side retaking the lead after only a few minutes.
A valiant H71 fightback toward the end of the game was, however, not enough and HC Galychanka Lviv secured a final score of 27-26.
Complications surrounding second leg
This was the first leg of a scheduled two-leg quarter final. The original first leg, scheduled to be played in Lviv on 13 February, was postponed due to the tense situation in Ukraine.
It remains unclear whether a second leg will be played or whether HC Galychanka Lviv will proceed to the semi finals based on this one result.
Both sides say they want a second leg, but the ultimate decision lies with the European Handball Federation (EHF).
