H71 women slapped with 10-0 loss

The Hoyvík-based H71 women’s handball team was forced to cancel its trip to Ukraine ahead of the first leg of their quarter-final clash last month due to tensions in Ukraine.
For the second leg, their Ukrainian opponents, HC Galychanka Lviv, travelled to the Faroes where they secured a narrow 27-26 win.
Now, after ten days of uncertainty about whether the cancelled first leg should be rescheduled, the International Handball Federation (IHF) has determined H71 to forfeit the first leg and take a 10-0 loss.
The IHF has also fined H71 DKK 52,000 for not showing up to the game in Ukraine, scheduled for 13 February.
