Four Kinder egg products have been taken off store shelves as they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The products in question are:

- Kinder Surprise eggs – all types with expiry dates 26.06.2022 - 07.10.2022.

- Kinder Surprise Maxi – all types, including Kinder Easter Maxi æg 100g, with expiry dates 20.04.2022 - 21.08.2022

- Kinder Schokobons – all types with expiry dates 25.05.2022 - 19.08.2022.

- Kinder Mini Eggs with expiry dates up to 21.08.2022.

According to Faroese food and veterinary authority HFS, these products may be contaminated with salmonella due to hygiene issues at one of the factories.

Symptoms of salmonella

Common salmonella symptoms include diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, fever, headache, nausea and vomiting.

Symptoms can last from a few days up to several weeks. Anyone with concerns is advised to seek medical attention.

People who have purchased these products are asked to either return them to the store where they bought them or throw them away.
