Hoyvík residents demand a safer junction

The six houseowners’ associations in Hoyvík have handed signatures to Tórshavn City council, complaining about ‘unbearable’ traffic conditions.
Specifically, the residents demand a roundabout or traffic lights at the Vegurin langi/Løgmannabreyt junction.
The city council says it will look into the matter and last week agreed to set aside DKK 350,000 to fund a feasibility study for installing a roundabout or traffic lights at the junction.
Preliminary estimates suggest that a roundabout would cost DKK 8 million and that traffic lights would cost about DKK 4 million.
