Upcoming hotel named among “world’s most exciting”

American business magazine Forbes has listed Hilton Garden Inn, which opens in Tórshavn this summer, as one of the 20 most exciting hotels to open this year. 

Martin Restorff, who manages the new hotel, says this listing is of huge importance to the new hotel.

“This places us firmly on the world map, not only as a hotel but also as a tourism nation.”

Tórstein Christiansen, sales and marketing manager at the Hilton Garden Inn, reckons that the Hilton chain may somehow have had a hand in the Faroese hotel ending up on the Forbes list.

“Hilton has a massive PR department which promotes all Hilton hotels, and it is important for them to place the Faroe Islands on their own world map.”

The hotel has had thousands of enquiries from across the world, but it is not taking regular bookings until the exact opening date is determined.
