Faroes now free of coronavirus
There are no active corona cases left in the country, and no-one is in quarantine.

The coronavirus has died out in the Faroe Islands.

All of the 187 people who tested COVID-19 positive have now recovered, according to corona.fo.

The last positive test was registered on 22 April. A total of 8,403 tests have been carried out, the last 2,133 of which came out negative.

Further lift in restrictions

When the new corona figures were announced this morning, Prime Minister Bárður á Steig Nielsen congratulated the Faroese public on "an incredibly impressive result" and hinted at a further rollback of restrictions.

"With no registered COVID-19 cases left in the country, the government will now review its exit strategy and possibly try to speed up our reopening efforts," he said.
