New daycare for early-onset dementia sufferers

A new daycare service has opened in Glyvrar, Eysturoy, serving early-onset dementia patients in Eysturoy and Norðoyggjar.

The centre aims to make daily life meaningful and safe for these people and to generally improve the quality of their lives.

Up to now, dementia sufferers below the age of 67 in Eysturoy and Norðoyggjar have had to travel to Tórshavn for daycare.

The new centre in Glyvrar has facilities for eight people.
