New regulations on tourist fishing
A new directive limits the amount of fish that can be caught by tourists

03.07.2020 - 08:58

From tomorrow, tourists will be allowed to catch no more than 60 kilos of fish in round weight.

This is the essence of a new directive issued by the Ministry of Fisheries.

Tourists are only allowed to use rods, handlines or small jigging reels, and they are not allowed to sell fish caught in Faroese waters.

Tourist fishing licences can be issued to owners of fishing boats registered in the Faroe Islands.

Applications for such licences are to be sent to maritime rescue co-ordination centre Vørn.
