Spot checks in bars found no Covid-19 violations

The police found no violations of Covid-19 guidelines when they inspected bars, nightclubs and restaurants in Klaksvík, Runavík, Fuglafjørður and Tvøroyri last night.

All the establishments were found to adhere to the recommended 2am curfew.

Police also checked the number of people gathered inside, and in some cases it was necessary to remind people to keep a safe distance from one another.

The police also carried out traffic spot checks in Syðrugøta, Eysturoy, last night.

A total of 55 cars were stopped and the drivers were breath-tested, but none were charged with drink driving.
