More than 2,000 residents have signed a petition against the placement of the new church in Argir

Tórshavn City Council today received a petition signed by 2,062 people protesting the planned placement of the new church in Argir.
”This area is a true beauty spot much loved by the residents in the area, and it is just not right to build on it,” says Urd Johannesen, one of the petition initiators.
She hopes the petition will encourage the City Council and the Argir church council to reconsider the placement of the new church.
Mayor Heðin Mortensen said today that the City Council will initiate talks with the Argir church council.
