Research projects within the fields of culture, society, nature and health have been awarded grants totalling DKK 7.2 million.

This year’s grants were awarded to four PhD projects and six other research projects.

Three projects were awarded DKK 1.1 million each:

  • David Turesson’s project ‘Entrepreneurial Culture in Small Island Communities – a Comparative Look at Entrepreneurship in Financially Developed Societies’.
  • Rannvá Dahl’s project examining the interaction between fatty acids and carnitine in the muscle cells of CTD patients.
  • Sigri Gaini’s project ‘Freedom of Presentation and Hate Speech’.

The Research Council received 33 applications this year.

This year’s grants bring the total number of research projects subsidised by the Faroese Research Council up to 230 since the council was founded in 1996.
