Engineer dispute settled

The Engineers’ Union and the finance ministry approved Friday’s draft settlement and new two-year contracts have now been signed.

Four contracts were renewed: the contract with national transport company Strandfaraskip Landsins, the contract with publicly appointed land-based engineers, the contract with the Faroese Fishery Inspection Vørn, and the contract with the crew on research vessel ‘Magnus Heinason’.

The new contracts include pay rises and improved conditions regarding paternity leave, appointment procedures and pensions.
