Only three applicants for ten GP vacancies

Today was the application deadline for ten GP vacancies across the country.

Only three applications came in: two for positions in the Suðurstreymoy medical district, which includes the capital region, and one for the Sandoy district.

The appointment process will start in the coming days, says Egil á Bø, the head of Heilsutrygd (the Public Health Insurance).

The ten advertised GP positions were spread around the islands as follows: the capital region (four), Suðuroy (two), Skálafjørður (two), Sandoy (one) and one in Gøta.
