Retail spending on the rise

Sales of domestic utensils and furniture saw the highest increase (12 percent) in the second quarter of 2018, compared with the second quarter of 2017.

Retail sales are published quarterly and divided into three main categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear, and domestic utensils and furniture.

Sales in the food and non-alcoholic beverages categories increased by 3.1 percent, while the food and footwear category saw a 2.6-percent increase.
