Russia lifts Bakkafrost import ban

The Russian import restrictions imposed on Bakkafrost’s salmon products in November have now been lifted.

In a statement from 16 November 2018, Bakkafrost said that Russian food authorities would impose import restrictions on products from the company’s main processing plant in Glyvrar, Eysturoy.

The reason for the ban was that bacteria had been found in a sample sold to Russia.
