A new international alliance sets out to combat illegal fishing

16.10.2018 - 14:06
Eight nations have teamed in the fight against illegal fishing: Norway, the Faroes, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Namibia, Ghana, the Solomon Islands, Palau and Kiribati.
Illegal fishing is said to be such a comprehensive problem that one in five fish may be caught illegally.
According to a report from Chasing Red Herrings, illegal fishing represents annual losses of DKK 150 billion for the established fishery industry.
A key objective of the new alliance is to shed light on the seriousness of illegal fishing.
