There is currently no work being done on the running track in Klaksvík. The reason is that all the city’s waste disposal sites are full.
The City Council will meet on 31 January to discuss a solution to this problem. There is no money in the 2019 council budget for new waste disposal sites.
According to a City Council spokeswoman, the running track was planned for completion near the end of this year. But she says that with the new complications, it is more likely that it will be completed in the summer of 2020.
The lack of waste disposal sites in Klaksvík is also slowing down other construction work in the city.
