The Faroe Islands have Europe’s largest labour force, closely followed by Iceland, new figures from Statistics Faroe Islands reveal.
Of the 36,500 Faroese citizens aged 15-74, 31,500 are classified as members of the labour force, which means they have a job or are actively looking for a job.
This means that the total average for both sexes is 86 percent, 88 percent for men and 84 percent for women.
Citizens who are not classified as members of the labour force include full-time students, disabled people and pensioners.
