The Work Environment and Fire Safety Authority has reached a conclusion on a work accident which took place in Klaksvík on 14 June last year.

A 49-year-old man was seriously injured in the accident, leading to the amputation of his right leg. This has resulted in a severe reprimand to Kósin.

Improved safety

The Work Environment and Fire Safety Authority has demanded that Kósin presents a clear plan on how to improve work safety, ensuring that there is a safe distance at all times between forklifts and workers.

Kósin and the Work Environment and Fire Safety Authority are currently working out a way to improve the general safety procedures at the company’s processing plants.
