No plans for fishery school

There are no plans to establish a fishery school, but the culture minister has promised to take a closer look at fishery-related study programmes. 

This was the essence of newly appointed culture minister Hanna Jensen’s reply to an enquiry from MP Magnus Rasmussen, who wanted to know if there were any concrete plans to set up a fishery school. 

She added that the Ministry of Culture is always seeking to adjust and improve study programmes so that they meet the demands of the work market. 

In 2007, a ‘fishery tools’ vocational study programme was established, but there was not much demand for it, with only one person graduating.
