Parkinson’s waiting times “unacceptable”

Despite pledges from the health minister to cut waiting times for Parkinson’s patients down to 4-6 months, the current waiting time is around ten months.
Durid Johannesen, the head of the Parkinson’s Association, says this is unacceptable.
“Four to six months is also too long for patients and their relatives to wait for treatment, because the seemingly endless wait has a poor effect on the patient’s health.”
Below Nordic standards
In Denmark, Iceland and Norway there is no waiting time for Parkinson’s patients.
The Faroese Parkinson’s Association is not expecting zero waiting time here, but the current situation is simply not acceptable, they say.
The Association has sent a statement to the health authorities saying that the situation in the Faroes does not live up to expectations for a Nordic health system in 2019, and that something needs to be done about this immediately.
