Drive-in cinema in Eysturoy
In the famous 1978 musical comedy classic Grease, Danny Zuko is anything but shy in the company of Sandy Olsson when they visit a drive-in cinema.
And now, four decades later, Faroese people – and, indeed, foreigners too – can follow in Danny and Sandy’s footsteps and experience this phenomenon.
This weekend, 26-27 April, a one-off drive-in theatre experience will be available in Søldarfjørður, Eysturoy.
Grease and Queen
The programme consists of Grease on Friday 26 April, and the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody on Saturday 27 April.
Petur Hansen, who recently moved back to his home town of Søldarfjørður, heads the project.
He says one of the main ideas behind the project is to shed light on his home town, as many people tend to overlook Søldarfjørður as a separate town in the municipality of Runavík.
