After a lengthy period of little growth, Nes municipality is now experiencing a sudden spike in housing demand due to the upcoming opening of the Eysturoy-Tórshavn subsea tunnel.

Demand for new homes is now so high that the local council has had to buy new land to build on.

This land will be used for 20 new plots, which will be ready for building on next spring, according to the local council’s annual accounts for 2018.
