Health board considering higher legal drinking age
It makes sense to think about increasing the legal drinking age limit to 20, according to the Public Health Board

It has been proved that limited access reduces alcohol consumption, says the Public Health Board after attending a drug and alcohol seminar in Nuuk, Greenland.

“We do not see the current drinking age limit as problematic,” says Magni Mohr, who heads the Public Health Board.

“But not all 18-year-olds have a biological age of 18. There can be a biological plus/minus of four years at this development stage. We all know that many youngsters start drinking before they are 18. So it is not ideal that a 16-year-old who has a biological age of 12 starts drinking, and that’s a decent reason to start reassessing our legal drinking age limit.”
