Five new Covid cases
According to the latest figures from this morning, five new Covid cases have been announced from Thursday’s testing round, bringing this month’s total up to 145.
These three new cases represent the 2,162 tests carried out on Thursday, all of which have now been analysed.
As the number of daily tests is higher than during the first wave this spring, it takes longer for laboratories to analyse the tests, which leads to a delay in the publication of each day’s results.
Location, age and gender
According to demographic details of this month’s Covid cases, announced on Wednesday on corona.fo, Suðurstreymoy has the highest number of cases, with 65, followed by Eysturoy (12), Suðuroy (5), Vágar (3), and Norðoyggjar and Sandoy (1). As of 12 August, no active Covid case was registered in Norðstreymoy.
The 20-29 age group dominates the statistics, with 46 cases registered so far. Next up is the 40-49 group (22), followed by the 50-59s (19), the 30-39s (18), the 10-19s (13), the 70-79s (8), the 60-69s (7) and 0-9s and 80+ groups (1).
