One new Covid case
One person tested positive in yesterday’s testing round.
The person, who caught the virus in the Faroes and is linked to a known chain of infection, has been quarantined and contact tracing has begun.
Sixty people are now listed as being in quarantine, and no-one is undergoing hospital treatment for Covid-19.
The daily number of positive Covid tests over the past week has been as follows: 1, 0, 2, 5, 0, 5, 0 and 1.
Location, age and gender
According to the latest figures on corona.fo, updated today, Suðurstreymoy still has the highest total number of Covid-19 cases registered since early August, with 103, followed by Eysturoy (22), Suðuroy and Vágar (12), Sandoy and Norðstreymoy (7) and Norðoyggjar (2). Faroese expats or foreign nationals account for 74 of the total figure. The location of three cases is not specified.
The 20-29 age group dominates the statistics, with 59 cases registered. Next up are the 10-19s and the 40-49s (20), followed by the 30s-39s (19), the 50-59s (18), the 0-9s and the 70-79s (11), the 60-69s (8) and the 80+ age group (1). The age of one case is not specified.
The gender split among those infected is 52 percent men and 48 percent women. Foreign nationals are not included in the age and gender statistics, but Faroese citizens living abroad are.
