Second round of Covid testing at Glasir postponed

The follow-up Covid-19 testing round of the roughly 1,700 students and staff at Glasir college scheduled for today has been provisionally postponed until tomorrow.
Glasir, along with a couple of other institutions in the capital, has been closed for teaching this week as a safety precaution after three members of a household in Tórshavn which includes children attending these institutions tested positive on Sunday.
All of Glasir’s staff and students were consequently tested on Sunday and Monday, and so far two positive tests have come out.

The initial plan was to start a round of follow-up tests today, but chief medical officer Lars Fodgaard Møller now says that with only two positive tests, the Glasir community is unlikely to be the source of the other positive tests registered this week.
Those who had been picked out as part of the contact tracing from the recent positive tests underwent Covid tests yesterday.
Møller is now awaiting the results of these tests before a final decision is made whether a full-scale follow-up testing round at Glasir is required.
