Only one application came in for the seven general practitioner vacancies that were advertised recently.
There were three vacancies in the Suðuroy medical district, two in Tvøroyri and one in Vágur. One vacancy was in the Norðoya medical district and another in the Vestmanna district for a position in Kollafjørður.
Two GP vacancies were advertised in the Skálafjarðar medical district, one in Runavík and one in Strendur. The latter is a temporary location as plans are underway to gather all the GPs in the Skálafjarðar medical district in Runavík’s health centre.
The number of patients per GP practice varies from 1,000 in Vágur to 1,750 in Klaksvík.
