Vaccines available in Vágar next week

The two municipalities in Vágar and the Hospital Service have joined forces to set up a trial vaccination site at the Giljanes school between Sandavágur and Miðvágur.

Vágar residents who have booked a vaccination appointment, first or second shot, will be getting their jab from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

Drop in vaccinations will be available at the same site 2pm-3pm.

If this trial proves successful, similar pop-up vaccination sites may be set up elsewhere in the country, say the two mayors in Vágar.

One new Covid case

One positive Covid-10 test was registered yesterday.

The person tested positive on arrival from abroad.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 1, 2, 0, 2, 0, 1 and 1.

There are currently 14 active Covid cases in the country. No-one is receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, and 46 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated yesterday, 35,333 people (66.2 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 31,716 (59.4 percent) have received the second shot.

Plenty of vaccine doses are available to everyone aged 12 and over.
