New drop-in vaccinations dates announced

After touring the islands over the past few days, the mobile vaccination team has concluded that improving access to vaccines makes a difference.

As a result, new drop-in vaccination sessions have been announced across the country.

The times and locations are as follows:

Tórshavn’s National Hospital (Eirargarður) 

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 5pm-5.30pm.

Klaksvík Hospital 

Wednesdays 4.30pm-5pm.

Suðuroy Hospital, Tvøroyri 

Details to be announced on Suðuroyar Sjúkrahús’ Facebook page.

Fuglafjørður’s GP clinic Thursday 9 September at 2.30pm.

No registration is required for the drop-in vaccinations.

Note that a minimum of 21 days must pass between the first and second vaccine shots.

Three new Covid cases

Three positive Covid tests were registered yesterday, all of which are linked to known chains of infection, reports corona.fo.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 1, 0, 4, 9, 5, 2 and 3.

No-one is currently receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 151 people are listed as being in quarantine.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 37,008 people (69.3 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 34,924 (65.4 percent) have received the second shot.
