Eighty-nine new Covid cases
Yesterday’s 2,126 Covid tests resulted in 89 positive cases, reports corona.fo.
This is by far the highest number of daily cases since the start of the pandemic.
Contact tracing is still underway, and the exact infection source figures are not yet available.
Most of the new cases are registered among unvaccinated children in Klaksvík, but there are also some cases in Fuglafjørður, Kambsdalur and Tórshavn.
"We have submitted a request to the state authorities to limit contact between unvaccinated children over the coming days," says chief medical officer Lars Fodgaard Møller.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 10, 6, 13, 15, 26, 38 and 89.
No-one is receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 288 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.
According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated yesterday, 39,114 people (73.1 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 37,404 (69.9 percent) have received the second shot.
