Seventy-one new Covid cases

Yesterday’s 3,216 Covid tests resulted in 71 positive cases, reports corona.fo.

All infected persons have been notified by the health authorities, and extensive contact tracing is underway.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 78, 99, 65, 68, 84, 81 and 71.

There are currently 665 active Covid cases in the country. Five people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 701 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

Travel through the Eysturoy subsea tunnel will be free of charge both ways for people in passenger cars driving to Tórshavn for Covid testing at the following times:

- Tonight until 11.30pm

- Tomorrow 4pm-11.30pm

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated yesterday, 39,503 people (73.8 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 37,773 (70.6 percent) have received the second shot.
