Faroes have Europe’s highest Covid incidence rate per capita
The Faroes yesterday topped the European list of the highest per capita rate of Covid cases reported in the past seven days, with 951.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
All 63 people who tested positive yesterday have been notified by the health authorities, and extensive contact tracing is underway.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 99, 65, 68, 84, 81, 71 and 63.
There are currently 705 active Covid cases in the country. Seven people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 718 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.
Travel through the Eysturoy subsea tunnel will be free of charge tonight until 11.30pm in both directions for people in passenger cars driving to Tórshavn for Covid testing.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated on Friday, 39,503 people (73.8 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 37,773 (70.6 percent) have received the second shot.
