Forty-two Omicron cases

A total of 63 new Covid cases were registered yesterday, including Omicron cases, bringing the total number of Omicron cases up to 42.
All have been notified by the health authorities and extensive contact tracing is underway.
The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 62, 58, 41, 96, 81, 78 and 63.
There are currently 525 active Covid cases in the country. Seven people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 92.3 percent of the 12+ population have received the first shot of the vaccine, 89.3 percent have received the second shot and 16.3 percent have received a third booster shot.
