No plans for government crisis meeting before Christmas
There is some communication between the three government parties, but no formal talks about future collaboration are expected until after Christmas

The government parties have agreed to try to patch up their differences following yesterday’s near collapse.

So says Prime Minister Bárður á Steig Nielsen after repeated calls from Fólkaflokkurin and Miðflokkurin for him to speak publicly about the government situation.

He says it would be in everyone’s best interest to step back for a few days and reflect on yesterday’s events.

The government remains active, and a regular government meeting will take place tomorrow, mostly consisting of directives that are due for implementation by year end.

The Prime Minister adds, however, that the current political situation will inevitably be mentioned in this meeting.
