Faroese foreign aid budget up by DKK 3 million in 2022

A total of DKK 12 million has been earmarked for relief aid and development aid in the 2022 budget.

This is an increase of DKK 3 million on the 2021 budget allocation.

Below is an outline of how the Faroes distributed its 2021 relief aid total of DKK 5,127,000 (details of the development aid distribution are not included).

- Red Cross: DKK 2,000,000 (relief assistance to various countries)

- Mercy Ships: DKK 200,000 (hospital ships)

- Open Doors: DKK 500,000 (Nigeria)

- The Faroese Romania Aid: DKK 100,000

- Mission Aviation Fellowship: DKK 800,000 (distribution of Covid-19 vaccines)

- New Life Organisation: DKK 265,000 (Covid-19 aid to Tanzania)

- New Life Africa International: DKK 612,000 (Covid-19 aid to Kenya)

- Life for a Child: DKK 150,000 (insulin for children in under-resourced countries)

- Afghanistan: DKK 500,000 (via the UN World Food Program).
