The H71 women’s handball team had travelled to Warzaw, Poland, and was ready to cross the border to Lviv in western Ukraine for the first leg of their their EHF quarter-final game against Galychanka Lviv.
But a last-minute decision was made not to cross the border to Ukraine following the advice from the foreign ministry and the team’s travel insurance firm.
H71 is in talks with the European Handball Federation regarding the possible consequences of not playing the game.
