Drivers fined for children without seatbelts

Police have issued fines for 22 drivers who had unrestrained children in their cars.

Patrols took place this week outside several schools in Tórshavn, Strendur and Klaksvík.

After 45 minutes of monitoring outside Klaksvík’s á Skúlatrøð school, police found no less than 13 cars with children who were not strapped in.

The 22 drivers will receive penalty points on their drivers’ licences in addition to DKK 1,500 fines.
