Burglars target cathedral

Tórshavn police received a report yesterday morning of one or more individuals forcing entry into the city’s cathedral and emptying the alms boxes.

The exact amount stolen is not yet clear, but large quantities of coins are said to have disappeared from the boxes.

Police are asking the public to report any information of relevance to the incident and to keep an eye out for people paying with large quantities of coins in the coming days.
